Meet the Teacher

Karen is deeply passionate about and committed to teaching Montessori. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from the University of Northern Colorado, a professional elementary teaching license in the state of CO, she completed her Montessori Elementary I certification at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, and she earned a Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Montessori Education from St. Catherine University. With more than two decades of classroom experience, Karen has taught Montessori to lower elementary students in both public and private schools—but loves teaching from home the most. She considers it a true blessing to support children as they develop and learn in their own unique ways.

Outside her professional life, Karen is married and the mother of two sons who are growing up fast. Together, her family enjoys tending to their animals, gardening, and managing an orchard on their homestead. They enjoy outdoor activities such as exploring nature, camping, hiking, crabbing, foraging for wild local foods, and soaking up the sunshine. Life is always an adventure!
